Association of Baha’i Studies
The overarching objective of the Association of Baha’i Studies (ABS) conference is to serve as an uplifting, welcoming space to explore learning about contributing to academic and professional discourses essential to the generation of knowledge and the progress of humanity. As one among a growing constellation of ABS activities concerned with promoting the intellectual life of the community, it aims to foster an animated conversation among diverse participants about how “to provide, in the world of ideas, the intellectual rigour and clarity of thought to match their commitment to spiritual and material progress in the world of deeds.”
Association of Baha’i Studies is an agency of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of Canada.
Many people in professional and academic fields share the aspirations of the Baháʼí Faith to promote peace, justice and human well-being, and to realize the potential of individuals, institutions and communities to address the needs of our times. The Association is exploring ways Baháʼís can contribute more effectively to the evolution of thought, in their respective fields, toward these ends. Such efforts are enhanced by learning together within processes of consultative inquiry characterized by study, action and reflection.
